I remember my mother spinning her Spanish 78's on our TV/Stereo combo set, and how it filled the room with magic, and even made the sunshine coming into the living room brighter.

My Tio (Uncle) Louie played guitar, and I thought I want to do that.

In high school, while passing the music room, I heard Mr. Iverson (piano) and Mr. Peas (clarinet) - who I thought of as “Squares” - jamming a Jazz tune and lit up the air. I said to myself, “one day I’m going to do that.” So, here I am trying to make the sunshine brighter and light up the air.
